About

Background

After retiring from a successful 21-year career as a VP of HR at one of the world’s premier talent academy companies, PepsiCo, Taylor, his wife, and children changed gears and moved from New York to the small town of Mona, Utah.  Taylor started Sage Executive Coaches, a coaching and consulting practice named after his horse Sage and the most prevalent bush on their 100-acre ranch, sagebrush.

Taylor has helped numerous executives across the globe to achieve career success. He knows how to facilitate their transition from tactical to strategic leadership and teach them how to successfully guide their organizations through the dramatic changes in our current business environment. Managing conflict to build trust, influencing diverse stakeholders, and navigating complexity are other areas of expertise.  His ranch creates a unique experiential learning environment for leaders and their teams. Taylor writes a regular Linkedin posting and newsletter called Leadership Lessons From The Land based on the insights he has gleaned while working on his ranch.

Experience

Taylor oversaw the talent development for a 50,000-employee division of PepsiCo and developed the Critical Experience Career Model currently used by all of PepsiCo’s professionals across the globe. He served on five senior leadership teams responsible for business from $250,00 to two billion in revenue. He led a global effort to establish an agile team practice that is revolutionizing the way work gets done across PepsiCo, dramatically accelerating innovation, cutting bureaucracy, and empowering decision making.  Taylor holds a BA from Brigham Young University and an M.S from West Virginia University.  He is a Certified Professional Coach from the College of Executive Coaching and from Cambria Coaching and is certified to administer numerous developmental tools including Hogan Assessments, Coaching Mindset Index, and Team Effectiveness Survey.

Approach

Taylor brings his extensive global business experience to his coaching and consulting practice.  His clients achieve dramatic personal change by embracing the concepts of “awareness” and “choice”.  They become aware of insights about themselves and their teams through robust psychometric and feedback tools.  They then choose to change critical behaviors with the help of prioritization and reinforcement mechanisms.  Strengths are enhanced, gaps closed, and behavioral change is verified.
